Recently shortlisted for The Aurum Independent Bookshop of The Year 2008, Ros Ephraim, proprietress, has run this shop for 35 years and intends to spend "the next 20 years still doing it" so that's about as committed to books as it gets and her staff are equally enthusiastic.

You will find, of course, a large selection of local titles, books on the Church Stretton and South Shropshire area and beyond, its history, legends and literature.

And . . . . . you can also access any main market title which, if not in stock, can be got for you "usually within 24 hours" which is "service par-excellence" is it not?

Ros also organises regular author book signing sessions, so if you are in the area why not enjoy an entertaining and very cordial evening at one of them?

And then there's the not inconsiderable effort and creativity that goes into the window displays when focusing on particular book launches and significant book-related events - impressive, visually, and in terms of personal energy and effort.

Also at the shop is an interesting local Art Gallery with world class paintings for sale from a number of Art Books sold in the shop and, if you are a visitor to the area, you can even order your own private commissioned painting of any aspect of the beautiful surrounding area.
